How To: Use Yeti Pro on iPad
April 7th, 2011A few weeks ago, we excitedly announced that with the latest Apple iOS 4.3 update and the camera connection kit offering a USB hookup, the doors reopened for professional-quality recording on the iPad! Blue Microphones’ USB mics, Snowball, Snowflake, Yeti and newest Yeti Pro are now capable of recording CD-quality audio to the iPad 1 or 2.
Connected through the camera kit, Snowball –a stereo condenser USB mic with cardioid and omni patterns—and Snowflake—a portable USB cardioid condenser mic—are plug-and-play for recording on the iPad with Blue’s studio-quality sound. Taking it to the next level, Yeti and recently released Yeti Pro require more power and can be connected through a powered USB hub, along with the camera connection kit for the highest quality digital recording to your iPad.

With the asset acquisition, Summit Audio’s production, sales and support will continue under the ownership of Blue Microphones
(Los Angeles, CA – April 6, 2011) Blue Microphones (www.bluemic.com), a leading innovator in microphone technology and design, announces the acquisition of the assets of Summit Audio Inc. (www.summitaudio.com), manufacturer of high-end signal processors and mic preamps. While continuing the tradition of quality characterized by both brands, Blue Microphones will be expanding the availability of Summit Audio products through improved supply and distribution, in addition to continuing new product development under the Summit brand.
“Acquiring Summit was a natural next step for Blue as we continue to grow and expand our studio and live microphone lines,” said John Maier, CEO of Blue Microphones. “Now, supplemented with Summit’s high-quality mic preamps and signal processors, we can bring a more complete offering to market and further our mission to deliver the highest-quality sound to our customers.”
Blue Microphones has retained former Summit President Erik Papp as the head of business development for Blue’s Signal Processing Division. Papp adds, “With Blue‘s exceptional growth and ability to extend Summit’s legacy through new product development and enhanced distribution, I can’t think of a better place for Summit Audio to be now and in the future.”
Blue Microphones will continue the production of all current Summit product lines, under the Summit name. Customer support, marketing, and sales will be resourced from the Blue Microphones team. Effective immediately, orders for Summit Audio products can be directed to orders@summitaudio.com, as Blue has initiated efforts to increase product supply moving forward.
