Blue Microphones Announces the Blue MOB Artist Community

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

Blue’s exclusive music community (the MOB) are users and fans of Blue Microphones who are supported by Blue through strategic partners, retailers, performance opportunities and more

Blue Microphones announces the Blue MOB (Musicians of Blue), a specially selected community of artists, engineers, producers, composers and DJs who are users and fans of Blue Microphones. The artists in this community are active in the studio, online and on the road, continuously using and advocating for Blue Microphones. Blue supports the community by connecting the MOB to opportunities, retailers, strategic partners, brands, and talent within the community, along with studio time, gear and more.

“We’re excited to be supporting our MOB artists in ways that go beyond the status quo expected of a microphone company,” said Tyler Barth, Entertainment Relations for Blue Microphones. “Artists are the heart and soul of our products and supporting them is a main priority. We don’t do traditional endorsements, but we provide mutual support based on a common passion for music and the art of capturing great audio.”

The MOB is made up of 100 artists, producers, composers and DJs who use a variety of microphones that span the range that Blue has to offer. Some of the artists, like The Gaslight Anthem, use Blue enCORE live series on stage, while Janelle Monae uses the Bottle in the studio. Blue artists on-the-go, like celebrity tech blogger iJustine, use Blue’s Eyeball 2.0 USB microphone and webcam to record or post online when a studio or stage is unavailable. The community is composed of more than performers, including behind-the-scenes producers and engineers from Butch Walker to Scott Humphrey and Brian Kennedy. Blue’s community also spans the globe including members from the U.S. to the U.K. to Australia.

“I am honored to be a part of the Blue MOB. It’s not every day that a company will dedicate so much support to the music community in such a strong and practical way,” said Kevin Rudolf. “By connecting brands to the arts and understanding how important sound is to an artist, it’s the best of both worlds.”

Blue Microphones brings benefits and opportunities exclusively to the MOB including performance opportunities at leading retailers, tour support from top brands, studio time at Blue headquarters, microphone support, along with Blue’s support of MOB member’s initiatives. Blue also champions the MOB community through social media and gives them a chance to expound on Blue’s popular podcast.
