Thursday, April 8th, 2010

Blue Microphones was the mic of choice for over 200 performances, a partner with over a dozen top events, outlets and artists, making Blue an integral mic at SXSW - Below is a highlight recap video, with music from new favorite Blue artist Imagine Dragons:

Blue Microphones, a leading innovator of microphone technology and design, was an undeniable force at SXSW 2010, March 12 – 21, in Austin, TX. Reaching all corners of the conference, Blue’s microphones were used in over 200 performances, including recordings on the AOL Livestream Bus, filmed performances for the Independent Film Channel and more. Blue Microphones was also a key partner for the FILTER magazine 3-day Showdown at Cedar Street party.

In a fitting display of comprehensive recording capabilities, Blue Microphones was the official microphone of the AOL Livestream Bus, where artists gathered in a makeshift studio to record and perform. Over fifty top artists recorded tracks using Blue’s studio mic, Bluebird, the live mic, enCORE 100 and/or their newly released THX-certified USB mic, Yeti. Videos from the bus are being launched across the Web as part of AOL’s new social media aggregate.

Blue also joined the festivities as an official sponsor of the FILTER Magazine Showdown Day Party, March 18th – 20th, at the Cedar Street Courtyard. The day party included 18 live performances from artists including Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Miike Snow, Dr. Dog, Minus the Bear and The Constellations, among many others.

Blue Microphones took center stage in over 200 live performances throughout the festival including the Spin Loft/Myspace VIP lounge, where artists Metric, Minus the Bear, Soft Pack and more used Blue’s enCORE 100 live mic to play acoustic for top VIPs and press. The Independent Film Channel filmed over 15 performances using the enCORE 100 and woodpecker mics, including Jakob Dylan, She & Him and Drive-by-Truckers. Reaching across the border, Blue Microphones set the entire audio stage of the Canada House, which hosted over 25 Canadian acts and presented two showcases daily.

Other notable performances included Comedy Central’s showcase extravaganza, where over eight comedians spread the hilarity using Blue’s enCORE 200 live mics. Reaching the local scene, Austin radio station, WOXY, recorded 15 artists throughout SXSW using Blue’s Dragonfly, enCORE 100 and 200. Along with over six artists from the A Todo Dar Latin showcase who used Dragonfly and enCORE 100 and 200 at the Gibson Showroom in Austin.
