“The Robbie (by Blue Microphones) is most likely one of the best preamps in our setup, period! We have many well-respected pieces of analog and tube gear in our studio, we’ve recently added the Robbie and we’ve enjoyed its distinctive voice on the spot, as well as its huge headroom and its amazing signal to noise ratio.It’s flat, but not too flat (what’s flat out there and most important: do we really want a preamp which is 100% FLAT?), still it’s coloured enough to have its unique sound.We’ve used it with any condenser mic we have in the studio, not to mention all the times we’ve used it as a DI, it’s awesome on electric bass.
